Special session on “Parallel and distributed high-performance computing solutions in Systems Biology” hosted by PDP 2018 - Cambridge, UK

The aim of this special session at the Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Network-based Processing (PDP) is to bring together researchers involved in the development of computational methods specifically accelerated either by means of conventional architectures (e.g., computer clusters, GRID computing) or by unconventional technologies (e.g., Graphics Processing Units, Many Integrated Core coprocessors, cloud computing, biomimetic devices). The session will take place from March 21-23, 2018 in Cambridge, UK.

SNI/Biozentrum Lecture: The development of cryo-electron microscopy - Biozentrum, Basel

Last year, Prof. em. Jacques Dubochet, along with two other scientists, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing cryo-electron microscopy. In a symposium organized by the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) and the Biozentrum of the University of Basel, Jacques Dubochet and two of his long-time colleagues, Ueli Aebi und Andreas Engel will provide fascinating insights into this technology. The symposium will take place in Lecture Hall 1, Klingelbergstrasse 50/70, Basel on April 11 from 16:00 - 18:00.
