22 new projects approved

The decisions related to the 7th call have been made! The Scientific Executive Board (SEB) of together with an expert group of the Swiss National Science Foundation have chosen the most promising proposals for Transition Postdoc Fellowships and Interdisciplinary PhD Projects, respectively. more »


31 new proposals submitted issued its 8th call for proposal in February 2013. The Swiss life science community was invited to submit proposals for Research, Technology and Development Projects and Transfer Projects up until June 30. More than 150 research groups are involved in the 31 submitted project applications. more »

The second International Conference on Systems Biology will take place October 20-23, 2014 at the Swiss Tech Convention Center (EPFL) in Lausanne.

Problem-solving governs how we process sensory stimuli

Exploring the sense of touch in mice, brain researchers from the University of Zurich demonstrate that the transmission of sensory information from one cortical area to connected areas depends on the specific task to solve and the goal-directed behavior.
