SystemsX.ch, on behalf of the EPFL School of Life Sciences and the Institute of Bioengineering, informs/reminds you of the

LSS2010, this year’s Life Science Symposium taking place on SEPTEMBER 2-4, 2010 on the EPFL campus.

After previous editions covering Cancer Research, Neuroscience or Infection Biology, this year’s event will run under the motto Engineering Life and be dedicated to Bioengineering at large.

LSS2010 is tailored to be a major international scientific event that will showcase some of the most modern and exciting developments in the broad and profoundly interdisciplinary field of biology-based engineering.
Five core themes will be covered by some 28 high-profile invited speakers coming from leading universities in the US, Europe and Switzerland:
- Biomolecular Structure and Systems
- Single Cell Systems
- Multicellular Systems
- Tissue and Physiological Systems
- Therapeutics and Diagnostics

Registrations are open online until August 10, 2010 (deadline to be further extended shortly): REGISTRATION

The organizors have made great efforts this year to keep registration fees particularly low (CHF 100.-) so as to facilitate participation of the largest possible number of young researchers and students from Swiss universities.
(included in the fee: access to lecture hall, poster exhibit and Life Sciences Fair during the 3 days; program booklet; all coffee breaks; access to networking event on the evening of September 4, 2010, with snacks and drinks offered).
All participants are warmly encouraged to contribute a poster.

A special session on Sept 2nd will be dedicated to presenting the annual Debiopharm Life Sciences Award, which this year will honor with a CHF 100’000 prize an outstanding young European investigator active in the field of Drug Delivery and Pharmaceutical Technology.
