Become member of the new LS2 Systems Biology Section
With SystemsX.ch coming to an end in December 2018, the new Systems Biology Section of LS2 has been created and will facilitate continued coordination and interaction between researchers from different scientific disciplines working on biological questions. The annual section meetings will enable intensive knowledge transfer and networking between systems biology groups in Switzerland. All members of the SystemsX.ch community are encouraged to join the new section and attend the systems biology symposium at the LS2 annual meeting in Lausanne on February 12 and 13, 2018.

Systems biology on film
Many of the projects funded by SystemsX.ch have addressed research questions that directly affect people’s lives. The new SystemsX.ch documentary film, “The Human Body – the ultimate frontier of complexity”, aims to make the work of these research projects more accessible. The film is currently available in English and German; the French and Italian versions will follow in late autumn. Members of the SystemsX.ch community are encouraged to share the film and publish it on their institutions’ websites. You can watch the whole film or individual chapters on www.systemsx.ch/film.
Film preview with panel discussion at Scientifica
The preview of the documentary film “The Human Body – the ultimate frontier of complexity” took place at Scientifica, organized by ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, on September 3. The event was met with great interest. The subsequent panel discussion on systems biology gave the public an opportunity to discuss with some of the initiative’s top scientists.
Last gathering of SystemsX.ch
From September 4-7, 2017, around 200 scientists from a variety of disciplines participated in the 3rd International SystemsX.ch Conference on Systems Biology at ETH Zurich. The event represented the conclusion of SystemsX.ch and showed that the initiative's philosophy of interdisciplinarity has resulted in fruitful collaborations and results which would otherwise never have been achieved.
